CREATING HOLISTIC DINING EXPERIENCES (FOR TOURIST GUIDES)

Singapore restaurants are responding to the pandemic by taking a more holistic approach and by hybridising both physical and virtual offerings in creating innovative and authentic dining experiences for their customers. Guides could play their part in value-adding to restaurants in this process. They have to familiarise themselves with the transformation taking place.

The objective of the course is to enable guides to swiftly acquire skill differentiators in order to play an effective role in value-adding to restaurants and to help to uplift Singapore's image as a leading dining destination both for foreign and local tourists.

FASCINATING TEA CULTURE IN SINGAPORE (FOR TOURIST GUIDES)

Tea culture in Singapore truly reflects the amazing cultural diversity here with a nod to our colonial past. The story of tea can easily be the main theme of a tour but it can also be broken down into byte size and weaved into any tour commentary. The course will equip guides with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to create a memorable tea experience based tour for the tourists.

HAWKER CENTRE 101 (FOR TOURIST GUIDES)

The course aims to provide tourist guides with the relevant knowledge and skills to:
- explain the development of hawker centres and the policies shaping it,
- highlight the appeals of our hawker centres, in particular the design, social bonding, innovative and environmental aspects and the planning considerations taken, and
- relate on the various hawker food offerings and their origins.

THE GUIDE'S ROLE AND SKILL SET IN WINE HOSPITALITY (FOR LICENSED TOURIST GUIDES ONLY)

In experience-driven tourism, wine hospitality plays a crucial role in elevating the overall gastronomic journey for tourists. The primary objective of this Professional Development Course (PDC) is to equip tourist guides (TGs) with the relevant wine knowledge to empower them to assist guests in choosing wines that align with their preferences and can complement well with signature local, Asian, and Western cuisines. Additionally, the course imparts the essential skill set to TGs, ensuring that the restaurant delivers impeccable wine services, thereby enhancing the overall dining experience for their guests.
